Checkout laptops

Laptops may be borrowed from either the Main Library or the Digital Library. Laptops can be borrowed from:

  • The Main Library Circulation desk for overnight, from 8:00 AM. And checked in by 3:00 P.M. on the next day
  • The Digital library's circulation desk for overnight, from 8:00 A.M and checked in by 3:00 P.M. on the next day.
  • The first time you borrow a laptop, you need to read the following laptop checkout policy and sign in agreement:
  • Laptops are available for checkout for all library users’ (enrolled Effat University students, Faculty, Admin) with a current library account who signs the Laptop Loan Agreement. Users with overdue books or pending fines are ineligible to use this service.
  • Laptops can't be reserved, and staff can't guarantee that a specific laptop will be available. One laptop per user at a time.
  • Personal headphones must be used when playing audio or video files in the library.
  • Laptops are available for checkout until two hours before closing time and you may return on the next day, one hour before the library closes. This provides library staff time to check each computer. If the laptop is not returned on time.
  • If the laptop is not returned on the next day of checked out, a fine of 50 SR will be assessed for each late day.
  • Laptops should be returned in person to a library staff member at the user services desk. Users must allow about five minutes for staff to complete the equipment check-in procedure. Users who leave before the check-in is completed or who leave a laptop unattended at the user services desk on more than two occasions will lose their laptop borrowing privileges for the rest of the semester.
  • The user assumes full responsibility for damage to the laptop due to neglect or loss. The cost of replacement or repair will be decided by the IETS department.
  • Library staff will try their best to assist with hardware problems, network connectivity or applications, however, users may need to contact IETS directly for issues beyond the library's responsibilities.
  • • Effat University Library is not responsible for claims related to the loss of any user files or data saved on the laptop.
